This August, “the highly anticipated 3rd Sake Sensation” – a series of sake-infused events for sake enthusiasts and gourmands makes its triumphant return! It is not only one of the city’s largest Japanese sake tasting events but also a cultural extravaganza that blends tradition with innovation.
Join to immerse yourself in a world of sake at The Mira’s penthouse Ballroom on 8 – 9 August 2025 during the 2 nights of Hong Kong Sake Festival 2025, featuring over 800 types of premium sake and shochu from 30 local distributors across 43 prefectures of Japan, including award-winning entries from the 2025 Oriental Sake Awards – some of which are making their Hong Kong debut – and rare shochu selections specially curated by the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association, all introduced by the knowledgeable judges of the Oriental Sake Awards that include international sake experts.

Hong Kong Sake Festival (8 – 9 Aug 2025)
Organised together with the Federation of Japanese Sake Industry of Hong Kong and hosted by The Mira Hong Kong, exclusive Event Curator, Hong Kong Sake Festival is the highlight of Sake Sensation.
Take a sake journey featuring over 800 types of premium sake and shochu from 30 local distributors across 43 prefectures of Japan, including award-winning entries from the 2025 Oriental Sake Awards – some of which are making their Hong Kong debut – and rare shochu selections specially curated by the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association!
The Mira’s iconic penthouse Ballroom will be transformed into an immersive Gion-inspired Japanese carnival, adorned with a range of Japanese decoration, evoking the enchanting ambiance of a Kyoto summer festival. You are encouraged to adorn traditional kimonos or Japanese-inspired attire to receive a special commemorative gift, adding a touch of ceremonial elegance to the evening.

“Sommelier’s Oma-sake” Sake Pairing Degustation (11 – 24, August)
From 11-24 August, the”Sommelier’s Oma-sake” sake pairing menu will be offered at WHISK as part of the 2025 Sake Sensation.
Each night featuring different selection of six types of competition-grade sake selected by the international sommeliers from the pool entered into the awards, with just HK$150 extra for the professional pairing with exquisite dishes by WHISK’s sake sommelier Martin Ho.
On 17 August, a special edition of competitive-grade Sake Free Flow Sunday Brunch with a tipsy twist will be held, where guests can enjoy unlimited competitive-grade sake selection with seasonal brunch specials.
