Introduced in the French island of Reunion in 1668, now a UNESCO World Heritage of Nature territory, the Queen Victoria pineapple is considered to be the best of its kind worldwide. The distinctive taste of its vibrant pulp and alluring fragrance are so exceptional that most-acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs around the world make them appear in anything from fine dining to cocktail creations.
Harvested at its optimum ripeness and freshly flown into Hong Kong, this royalty of fruit kingdom inspired Executive Pastry Chef of The Mira Hong Kong to create an exotic set of tropical sweets which let the beautiful fruit shine through: from zesty key lime and aromatic kaffir lime to tart and sweet passionfruit.
Kick back after a shopping spree in TST and try contemporary interpretations fusing French Pastry techniques with delicate, juicy and incredibly aromatic fruit, such as French Reunion Victoria pineapple on a rum-coconut tart, French Reunion Key lime trifle yoghurt cream, and passionfruit on mango pudding frozen and served in passionfruit halves.
Each tea set is served with a “mini-cocktail” of fresh pineapple soaked in Carribean rum syrup!
